Support Families Through Pregnancy, Labor, and Birth

At Moonlit Motherhood & Soleil Spa, our Birth Doula Apprenticeship is a 10-month immersive program designed for aspiring doulas who want to provide evidence-based, compassionate, and holistic support during pregnancy and birth. The first five months blend classroom learning, hands-on skill practice, and real-world mentorship to prepare you to confidently support birthing families.

What You’ll Learn:

• History of childbirth and how it moved from home to hospital

• Feminist philosophies and the doula code of ethics

• Prenatal care and building effective birth plans

• Bloodborne Pathogen Training

• Comfort measures: Rebozo, counter-pressure, massage, and encouraging communication

• Understanding labor physiology: early labor, transition, active labor, pushing, and placenta delivery

• Working with midwives, doctors, and nurses, including advocacy for your clients

• Building birth bags, contracts, and integrating client-centered care

• Conception coaching and supporting families through pregnancy loss

Mentorship & Client Experience:

From week 7 onward, you’ll begin working with real clients under Cherish’s guidance, gaining hands-on experience with prenatal visits, birth attendance, and postpartum support. By graduation, you’ll have attended multiple births and conducted prenatal consultations, giving you a strong foundation as a professional birth doula.

Months 6-10

Empower Families After Birth

Our Postpartum Doula Apprenticeship builds on birth support knowledge from the first five months and focuses on nurturing families in the critical first weeks and months after birth. During the last 5 months of this apprenticeship, you’ll develop the skills to provide physical, emotional, and practical support for new parents, helping families thrive in postpartum life.

What You’ll Learn:

• Postpartum recovery and self-care for birthing parents
  
  

• Supporting breastfeeding, infant care, and nutrition
  
  

• Night support strategies and managing sleep transitions
  
  

• Recognizing postpartum mood disorders and providing compassionate support
  
  

• Helping families process birth experiences, including miscarriage or C-section recovery
  
  
  

• Community outreach, advocacy, and professional practices for postpartum support
  
  

Mentorship & Client Experience:
Through hands-on mentorship, you’ll conduct postpartum visits with real families, offering guidance on feeding, infant care, emotional wellbeing, and holistic recovery. This practical experience ensures you graduate as a confident, knowledgeable postpartum doula ready to support families in your community.
